User engagement through social media, encouragement to students to get involved in Mozilla projects
MozTour to Zamboanga City
as Mozilla's presence organizer
Four representatives from Luzon, including myself, visited community members, students and professionals in Zamboanga City last May 18 to share the Mozilla advocacy, Boot2Gecko project and localization efforts. This event held at E-Learning Centre was co-organized by fellow ReMo Rj Ian Sevilla.
As primary contribution, I talked about how involvement in the local and global open source communities and Mozilla projects can help students acquire sufficient professional experience to prepare them for 'real world' development.
Social activities after the event took place on a local restaurant near the venue and a short tour around the city.
Here's blogpost I recently published about this tour -- From Z to A: Mozilla Philippines visits its community members beginning in Zamboanga http://t.co/kBKxMpPe
